Chloe & Jake's Wedding at Barnett Hill Hotel
On the 28th September 2018, Chloe & Jake got married at the lovely Barnett Hill Hotel in Guildford. This is the first wedding I’ve shot at this venue and I hope to work there again very soon. The venue is a really lovely size, not too big to lose guests and not too small to feel like there’s no space at all.
I had the lovely Annie Poe working with me – she was my right-hand woman on the day. We had SO much fun working together, there was great synchronicity between us and we couldn’t stop laughing all day.
Weather
The weather was everything the couple had hoped for, brilliant sunshine pretty much all day! There were some cloudy spots which was great – it meant I could get consistent looking group shots in even light when I needed to.
The Day
The whole day was spent at Barnett Hill Hotel which is just ideal (not just for suppliers but for the guests too!) I started the day photographing the grounds and then headed up to the Acer Room where bridal prep was taking place. Laughter was in the air, the prosecco was flowing and the fabulous Olivia Mills and Becs had got to work on the girls makeup. Annie headed downstairs shortly after meeting Chloe & the girls, to capture Jake and the guests arriving. Bridal prep was followed by a lovely ceremony in The Oak Room and drinks out on the lawn.
I then took the newlyweds away from their guests to capture their couple portraits. This was then followed by the group portraits and then dinner.
After our bellies were full and batteries re-charged, we headed into the Garden Suite for the speeches. The atmosphere in the room was amazing. So many wonderful things being said about how beautiful Chloe and her bridesmaids looked and so many hilarious jokes made between other family members.
When the speeches were finished, people were free to roam about the venue, a lot of them headed to the bar (obvs) and some headed into the Drawing Room where Chloe & Jake had a caricature artist, photo-booth, sweet cart and a beautiful hand-drawn portrait of the two of them. I thought this was such a personal touch, it meant people could leave their mark on Chloe & Jake’s special day. This was done by one of the talented bridesmaids.
Then the time had come for the cake cutting, first dance and then the PARTTAAAAAAAAY! The dance floor was full of people throwing mad shapes and having the best time. (And that was just Annie & I!)
Thank you
Thank you Chloe & Jake for choosing me to be your photographer, I couldn’t have wished for a better couple to photograph. I’m so happy to call you friends! Now for the best bit… the photo’s!
