On the 9th August 2019, my lovely couple Eloise & Jamie had their Brookfield Barn wedding. It’s SUCH a lovely venue and was a perfect size for all of Eloise & Jamie’s guests.
I started my day with Eloise and her bridesmaids in the prep room. The Prosecco was flowing, sandwiches were being eaten and all talk was of Eloise & Jamie’s special day. My aunt, Sharon Roberts did some beautiful up-do’s for the girls and Carolanne Armstrong as the whizz with the make-up brushes and enhanced the girls natural beauty. The Bridesmaids skirts were all made by Vicky, Eloise’s talented mum.
After I’d finished getting ready with the girls, I went to photograph the guests arriving. They arrived on an old, vintage style green bus and then headed into the ceremony room. Once everyone had been seated, the bridal party entered to Eloise & Jamie’s friends who were their singers for the ceremony. After the ceremony had ended and the couple were about to leave the room, Eloise had a surprise for Jamie. She requested ‘Glad All Over’ to be played as Jamie is a big Crystal Palace fan. Once the guests had left the ceremony room, we all headed outside for confetti and the group shots.
After the group shots, everyone could relax and enjoy canapes and conversations. Everyone was so happy to be there at Eloise & Jamie’s Brookfield Barn wedding – you can see how smiley they are in all the photos. I then sneaked the couple away for some portraits.
The room details for the wedding breakfast were so beautiful. The couple had gone with a Gin theme so had various different sized bottles by different Gin brands as their table centrepieces. They had cut out names for the ‘place cards’ and instead of giving out favours, Eloise & Jamie had donated money to Unicef to help buy footballs and text books. They also had a wedding speech sweep stake to see how long it would take for all five speeches to be shared. The fun didn’t stop there, Eloise & Jamie had organised one person from each table to be a waiter & server for their table. They had a personalised apron and a chef’s hat to wear when it was their turn to bring the food back to the table. This was super fun and really interactive. Dotted on the tables were polaroid cameras so guests could make scrapbook pages for the couple to enjoy after the day.
The five speeches were emotional, funny and heartfelt. Once they were over, guests could enjoy the AMAZING pudding bar waiting for them. New guests then started to arrive and teas and coffee’s were served. After an hour or two, the light had begun to fade and the evening reception was about to commence. The couple cut the cake and then Eloise did a bouquet toss before dancing the night away with her new hubby and best pals.
It was such a lovely day and I honestly felt like I was photographing a friends wedding. I felt involved before the day and on the day. I wasn’t just a supplier to them, I was a pal with a camera. More couples like these guys please! <3 If you’re having a Brookfield Barn wedding, please get in touch, I’d love to work there again.

Here’s what Eloise had to say about working with me:
Bethany was the best and most professional wedding photographer we could have asked for. From the first email to meeting her she listened to my concerns about having my photo taken and was a pleasure to work with. She made me feel at ease during our engagement shoot and somehow managed to get beautiful photos with me in them. Before the wedding she listened to what we wanted and planned in detail to make sure it all ran smoothly.
On the day she was a dream, having someone you actually like as your wedding photographer is important. No one tells you this but you spend a lot of the day with them or around them. So you want to like them. Beth blended into the background and caught some beautiful moments on camera exactly as we wanted. We had the standard group shots and some couple shots but she did this all without it feeling like it got in the way of us celebrating our day with our friends.
Her photos speak for themselves in showing how talented she is but what they don’t tell you is how lovely she is to work with as person and how she genuinely cares about making sure her couples get the photos and the wedding day they want. This is important in a wedding industry full of choices. Beth knew we really wanted a few photos of people dancing and the band and although our evening ran over she stayed late to capture this. Something I know not many photographers would do. She also knew I didn’t like standing having my photo taken so organised the most efficient 30 minute group shots I have ever seen and a lot of people have commented on how great it was. She came to the venue before the day as she hadn’t worked there before and surprised us when we returned from our honeymoon with all the photos. All these little touches matter as it’s such a special day.
Choosing a photographer for your wedding is a huge choice as you keep the photos for ever and spend hours looking at them after. Your wedding really is the best day of your life and Beth helped to capture ours so beautifully that we can dip in and out and remember all the best parts forever. Choosing Beth was one of the best choices we made for our wedding and we can’t thank her enough for the beautiful photos and for being so lovely throughout the day.. even when I didn’t want to get on that bridge! But she was correct and it’s my favourite photo!
